Second Marriage
Second Marriage
John Ackermann is a tall, rather handsome, moderately successful, queer-as-fuck stage actor living in London. He’s a lovely dinner guest, a lot of fun at parties, and, many agree, pretty great in bed. He’s also pathologically single, chronically depressed, and occasionally suicidal. And he’s about to turn forty.
Then, on the night of his fortieth birthday, he meets Eloise Underwood, an esteemed playwright and passionate chaos-agent who lures him back into the terrifying jungle of romantic entanglements. From an unusual wedding to COVID-19 lockdown to a stay in a Viennese psych ward, John is pulled neck-deep into a life that refuses to behave itself, in a world that seems to be doing the same.
